Week 1 – My Gut Biome Reset Journey – Blog #2
1 week in.
I have received all the supplements by mail sporadically, so I’ve been on the whole regimen now for a week although I’ve taken some supplements for a little longer according to arrival.
Here’s the List:
7 Keto DHA: Adrenal, thyroid and energy support - 1tsp on empty stomach
Healthy Origins Fiber Natural: Prebiotic fibre to boost beneficial bacteria - on empty stomach
Symprove: to restore beneficial bacteria - 1 capful on empty stomach
Thorne Thyroid Support - 1 pill at 1st meal
Designs For Health Digestive Enzymes: to support digestion and nutrient absorption - each meal (3x day)
Pure Encapsulation Vitamin A (or similar): Regulate gut immune response, reduce inflammation and reduce gut permeability - 1 pill with 1st meal
Interfase Plus: to break down biofilms - the cover where the parasites hide out - Before Lunch
Biocidin: Potent herbal blend to support GI flora and promote balanced immunity - 2 or 3 drops before lunch
GI Microb X: to eradicate the Parasites - 1 pill before lunch
GI Revive: Leaky gut support - 1tsp at bedtime
There is a protocol to follow with all this. I’m happy to share with you if you want to reach out. Email me at contact@t-factor.online
I realize this is a pricey regimen. It is what I’ve decided to invest on my gut health, out of desperation after my entire adult life being bothered with digestion. I hope you can benefit from my experience and my process.
How I feel:
I’m feeling good. My painful bloating from the past few weeks attesting to my nerves with the move is gone. That doesn’t mean the bloating is gone at all. Is it the reassurance that I am doing something about the pain that has removed the added stress of being out of control? Has that removed the pain? Perhaps. Or is it the regimen that’s already been helpful? I don’t know.
How I look:
Tummy: Still quite bloated in the lower belly. My daughter likes to bounce her finger on it, perhaps hoping, as I am, that it would deflate like a balloon!!
Skin: see for yourself. I’m sharing, I don’t care. I did get quite worried though last night when I took this picture and emailed the doctors immediately. They say some people have a skin reaction to the elimination of the parasites. It’s called a Herxheimer Reaction or Pathogen/Parasites Die-Off Symptoms and here is some more info.
Mood/Stress: I’m doing good, fine. Just bothered by the constant bloating but at least i’m not waking up crying o fpain anymore, as i have in the past few months.
What to do:
Drink a lot of water. Gosh I hate that. I really, really hate drinking lots of water. This is an acquired skill I’ll have to force myself into. I love water, I practically only drink water, never anything else. But quite little it seems.
Reduce Interfase to one pill per take (from 2 pills per take).
Reduce Biotin to 2 drops per take (from 3 drops per take).
Reduce Gx to 1 pill a day (from 3 pills a day).
Stop stressing the fuck out. MEDITATION MEDITATION MEDITATION.
On a personal note, I need to fix my posture issues while sitting down. It has just recently dawned on me that every counter, table, desk and chair is… well, too low for me. Duh! And now I can barely move my head from side to side let alone backwards. That has been my nervousness, all going to my belly and my neck muscles.
Conclusion:
This is definitely NOT a cleanse in the sense that your tummy deflates because you stop eating anything substantive. It’s not an overnight flat tummy scenario and that is certainly not what I’m looking for anyways. Been there, done that, not interested as it doesn’t last. I’m looking for the reset button for the tummy.
I did naively think though that the bloating would be mostly gone given that I do follow the Low FODMAP diet pretty well and am making sure not to mix carobohydrates with proteins and avoiding sugars so the tummy doesn’t have to overwork.
A Summary of my GI Results:
General Dysbiosis - low levels of several nasty bacteria
Very low levels of ‘good’/friendly bacteria - some important strains are close to extinct
High levels of 2 parasites
Weak digestion - poor protein and fat breakdown
A summary of my 8 weeks regimen:
Take supplements for Thyroid Support, Prebiotic Fibers to boost beneficial bacteria, Probiotics to support beneficial bacteria, to reduce gut inflammation and absorption of nutrients.
Follow a Low FODMAP Diet which is low in fermentable, poorly absorbed carbohydrates. Because this diet removes the foods that feed bacteria in the gut, it helps relieve gas, bloating and other digestive symptoms. Studies have shown a Low FODMAP diet can greatly reduce the symptoms of IBS, Crohn’s, and colitis. Additionally, a Low FODMAP Diet is often combined with the SCD diet as part of a protocol to address SIBO.
Add further meditation.
I will be documenting my progress here and on my Instagram. I’ll be sharing all my findings, the lexicon and more to help you understand if your symptoms are similar to mine.
Many of you have been asking about the Smoothies I’ve been starting to make every morning and posting. Smoothies that don’t hurt the tummy! That’s new and it’s so nutritious. Stay tuned for my Smoothies recipes:-)
Until next time,
ML.
